Brick Kiln Slavery
Rescuing families from "Brick Kiln slavery" is our most recent activity. Brick kiln slavery is a form of indenturement whereby a factory owner provides a loan to desperate family with the understanding that they will work off the principle and interest in the brick kiln. The owners impose other costs i.e. rent and food costs thus making it almost impossible to both survive and pay off the debt. These families are doomed to a life of slavery unless and outsider pays off their debt. Even then, many of these factory owners may become violent making any attempt at rescue dangerous.
